To deal a lot of damage:
Play as a W/Any...
Use a 16 weapon mastery of your choice attribute.
Bring attack skills. (Many wammos bring only a couple, I usually go with four)
Use a max damage weapon with 15% bonus when health is above 50% and personalize it (+20%). (you can get cheap ones from collectors, see guildwiki.org for a list)
Do not be afraid to use frenzy. Monsters will not focus on you anyway, and neither will PvP players. Bring a cancel stance such as sprint to cancel frenzy if needed, as well as to run after kiters.
Now all you have to do is browse the forums for a descent build.

Hope this helps and my English is not too bad.

Utaku hit the nail on the head. Though I use Flail for PvE since being hit with a Invoke Lightning under Frenzy is really depressing.
